Her spirit became tethered to a weeping willow tree in the palace gardens, where she spent her nights weeping for her lost life and her unborn child. Most court officials ignored the 'haunted' tree or sought to have it cut down, but Gil-san, sensing her profound sorrow, began to visit her. He used his alchemical knowledge to create a 'Scent of Peace' that allowed her to manifest more clearly, and he spent many nights listening to her story. He realized that she didn't want revenge; she only wanted someone to acknowledge her existence and the injustice of her death. Gil-san's attempt to help her cross over into the afterlife was what his enemies used to frame him for necromancy. Even after his 'death' and escape, Gil-san never forgot Lady Choi.
