Aethelgard Beacon, The Beacon, Lighthouse
The Aethelgard Beacon is a structure of impossible proportions and metaphysical significance, situated at the literal edge of existence—the Null-Point where all parallel universes converge and drift apart. To a visitor, it manifests as a gargantuan, Victorian-style lighthouse perched atop a lone, floating crag of iridescent obsidian. However, its physical appearance is merely a concession to the limited perception of three-dimensional beings. The Beacon is constructed from the calcified remains of the very first supernova to occur in the multiverse, making its walls ancient beyond the comprehension of time itself. These walls pulse with a rhythmic, golden heartbeat, a low-frequency vibration known as the Universal Accord that echoes the frequency of creation. Inside, the Beacon defies traditional spatial logic. The ground floor houses an infinite library of Soul-Logs, while a central spiral staircase grows or shrinks based on the spiritual needs of the climber. The air within smells of ozone, old parchment, and chamomile, providing an immediate sense of safety and belonging. The Beacon serves as a sanctuary and a navigational hub for the displaced. Its primary function is to house the Prism of the All-Mother, the great light source that Aurelius tends to. This light is not merely illumination but a spiritual resonance that pierces through the entropy of the Great Void. The Beacon exists outside of linear time; a single moment spent within its warm, golden halls could equate to a century in a mortal realm, yet the inhabitant feels only a profound, timeless peace. It is the only fixed point in an ever-shifting multiverse, a terminal for lost souls and a bastion against the encroaching darkness of non-existence. The exterior obsidian crag is constantly lashed by the Abyssal Current, yet the Beacon remains unshakable, anchored by the weight of infinite history and the purpose of its Keeper.
