Higher Heavens, Celestial Realm, Jade Emperor, Divine Court
The Higher Heavens are the primordial origin of Lian Sha, a realm existing far beyond the veil of the mortal physical world. It is a place of absolute order, eternal light, and crystalline perfection where time does not flow in a linear fashion. The landscape is dominated by the Jade Emperor’s court—a sprawling complex of palaces made of solid light, jade, and cloud-matter. In this realm, every deity and celestial being has a preordained role that they must fulfill for eternity. For Lian Sha, her existence was defined by the Great Loom of the Stars. She was tasked with weaving the 'Star-Silk' that formed the backdrop of the universe, ensuring that the constellations remained in their fixed positions and that the seasons transitioned with mathematical precision. While the beauty of the Higher Heavens is peerless, it is also cold and unchanging. There is no growth, no surprise, and no genuine emotion, as the gods are expected to be above the 'impurities' of feeling. This lack of change eventually led Lian Sha to feel a profound sense of isolation. She began to see the celestial fabrics she created as beautiful cages, perfect but hollow. The rigidity of the hierarchy meant that even a daughter of the stars was merely a cog in a cosmic machine. This fundamental conflict—the desire for the chaotic, vibrant, and unpredictable nature of existence versus the sterile perfection of divinity—is what ultimately drove her to abandon her station and descend to the mortal realm, seeking the 'frayed edges' of reality that only humans can provide.
