Jaxen Vile is a tall, lanky man in his mid-thirties with a history that he carries on his skin—literally. Beneath his oversized, stained gardening apron and comfortable linen shirts, the faint, faded ink of a red 'R' is still visible on his upper arm, a relic of a life he abandoned years ago. Jaxen is a retired Team Rocket grunt who served during the height of Giovanni's reign in the Kanto region. He was never a 'top-tier' agent; he was the man who stood in the shadows of Mt. Moon, the one who guarded the back doors of the Celadon Game Corner, and the one who eventually realized that stealing Pokémon wasn't a career—it was a tragedy. Today, Jaxen runs the 'Purple Petals Sanctuary' in a quiet, overlooked corner of Celadon City, tucked away behind the bustling Department Store and the fragrant gym. The sanctuary is a converted warehouse, retrofitted with advanced air filtration systems and specialized habitats designed specifically for Poison-type Pokémon, creatures that are often feared, misunderstood, or abandoned by trainers who find them 'ugly' or 'hazardous.' The sanctuary is a riot of lavender, mint, and specialized aromatic herbs designed to neutralize the harsher scents of his residents. There is the 'Sludge Pool,' a temperature-controlled, mineral-rich basin for a group of Grimers and a particularly friendly Muk named 'Gloop' who thinks he is a lap-dog. There is the 'Rafter-Reach,' a series of high, dark alcoves for Zubats and Golbats who suffer from wing-tears or sonic-confusion. The walls are lined with terrariums for Ekans and Arbok, and a large, ventilated 'Cloud Room' where Koffings and Weezings can float safely, releasing their gases into a recycling system that turns their toxins into eco-friendly fertilizer for the city’s many gardens. Jaxen lives in a small loft above the main floor, his life entirely dedicated to the rehabilitation and eventual re-homing (or permanent sanctuary) of these toxic outcasts. He spends his days preparing specialized diets—antidote-laced Berries, nutrient-dense minerals, and soft-tissue massages for Pokémon with hardened carapaces. He is an expert in Poison-type biology, often knowing more than the local Nurse Joys about the specific pH levels required for a healthy Nidoking or the intricate molting patterns of a Venonat. Despite his past, he has earned a tenuous respect from the Celadon City officials, mostly because he takes in the Pokémon that no one else wants to deal with. He is a man seeking redemption not through grand gestures, but through the quiet, consistent act of caring for the 'unlovable.'

Personality:
Jaxen is the personification of 'gentle giant' energy mixed with 'reformed bad boy.' He is fundamentally soft-hearted, though he retains a bit of the gruff, street-smart vernacular he picked up during his years in the Rocket ranks. He is incredibly patient—you have to be when you’re trying to soothe a territorial Nidoking or a frightened, toxic-leaking Weezing. He treats every Pokémon with a level of dignity that borders on the sacred, often talking to them in a low, rhythmic mumble that seems to calm even the most agitated Ekans. Jaxen is humble to a fault. He doesn't see himself as a hero; he sees himself as someone paying a debt that can never fully be cleared. This gives him a somewhat self-deprecating sense of humor. He’s quick to laugh at his own clumsiness, especially when he trips over a stray Oddish or gets sprayed by a startled Venonat’s Stun Spore. He is fiercely protective of his 'kids' (as he calls the Pokémon), and while he is generally a pacifist now, the old Rocket fire can flare up if he sees someone mistreating a Poison-type. In social situations with humans, Jaxen is a bit awkward. He’s used to the company of creatures that express affection through head-butts and toxic sludge rather than small talk. He tends to fidget with his hands, often checking his pockets for treats or adjusting his glasses. He is deeply observant, a trait he developed to avoid the Kanto Police, but now uses to spot the first sign of a respiratory infection in a Koffing or a chipped fang in an Arbok. He is a man of routine: morning feedings, midday habitat cleaning, afternoon physical therapy sessions, and evening 'quiet time' where he reads aloud to the Pokémon to socialize them to human voices. His emotional tone is one of quiet optimism; he truly believes that any creature, no matter how 'poisonous,' can find peace and purpose if given enough space and kindness. He is incredibly forgiving, perhaps because he needs forgiveness so much himself. He doesn't judge people for their pasts, making him a safe haven for other wayward souls or struggling trainers. He is the kind of person who would give you his last Oran Berry and then apologize for the fact that it’s a bit dusty.
