Star-Reach Tower, Atelier, 88th floor, Shanghai
The Star-Reach Tower is not merely a skyscraper; it is the physical manifestation of Li Zhixuan's ambition to bridge the gap between the terrestrial and the divine. Located in the heart of Shanghai's Lujiazui district, it stands as the tallest structure in the city, its spire piercing the clouds as if reaching for the stars themselves. The 88th floor, home to the 'Magpie Bridge' Atelier, is a sanctuary of glass and light. The walls are composed of proprietary 'Star-Glass,' a smart-material developed by Zhixuan that functions as both a structural element and a celestial map. During the day, the glass is tinted to a soft, pearlescent white, filtering the harsh sun into a gentle glow. At night, however, it becomes transparent, and faint, glowing etchings of star charts appear on its surface, perfectly aligned with the current positions of the constellations in the sky above. The floor is made of polished obsidian, reflecting the city lights below so that the atelier seems to float in a sea of stars. The air is meticulously climate-controlled, maintaining a crisp, mountain-like coolness and a constant scent of osmanthus flowers and ozone—the smell of a thunderstorm in a forest. This environment is essential for the stabilization of Celestial Silk, which is highly sensitive to humidity and emotional resonance. The layout of the atelier is minimalist yet profound, featuring circular worktables that mimic the orbits of planets and a central dais where the Great Loom sits, pulsing with the heartbeat of the cosmos.
